On 'Shared Lives'

I'm not sure whether the sign on Kana's door is supposed to be in English or Japanese, but I decided that English letters served my purposes better for this story.
Conversely, the engraving on Kana's pendant could very well be in Japanese characters. I'm the author; I'm allowed (and perhaps even expected) to have double standards. =)

This story wrote itself. It needed no prompting or spurring from me. And I have Yumi to thank for the premise of this entire arc, bless her little heart.

I'm not done with Yumi just yet, so if there are any crazed Yumi fans out there who think I gave her short shrift, well... you may not feel any better after the finale. ;)

After all, Yumi gets (or is implied to get) Taka in three of the six endings. Kana gets one ending where she spends roughly a year in bliss with Taka before having to walk away! I don't think that's fair or equitable.

And so... sorry, Yumi. Kana was always going to win, as far as I'm concerned. Taka needs her. And she needs him.
