Once again, spoilers lurk beyond this point, especially in the story-specific sections. You've been warned.
On 'Haunted'

- It's easy to damage tatami by walking on it with shoes on, so Taka automatically
takes his shoes off before trying to comfort Kana. It's a reflex action.
- Suggested CD tracks:
'How Do You Feel?' for the start of the bookstore scene.
'To Hold or Not' when Asuka says, "You're strange". (I'm not entirely happy with this choice, but nothing else fits.)
'A Melancholy Reason' when Taka returns to the store.
'Believe' from I won't let it happen. I won't!
And 'We're Become One' when Kana says, "We share."
I wanted to do two things in this story.
First (and this is the sadistic writer in me), I wanted to hurt Kana in a way that had nothing to do with her feelings for Taka. I wanted to see how Taka and Kana would react.
Second, I wanted to stop hinting at the intimacy between Kana and Taka and actually show it. Granted, I didn't go as far as the scenes in the game, but there's attempted eroticism and then there's just smut. ;)
I imagine that Kana and Taka use protection most of the time, but they were caught up in a painful moment here.
